  My first encounter with this practice was when I was in the hospital, in 2013, with a perforated colon (which I could have died from but my original gastroenterologist failed to tell me that). That original gastroenterologist came to my room, introduced me to one of the three doctors in this practice (which after this many years, I don't remember which one), and announce he was leaving the country for several weeks and they would take care of me. And they did. After being in the hospital for about 2+ weeks, the decision I had to make was to have immediate surgery which would incur a colostomy bag, or try to wait as long as possible to let the area heal up a bit first. Dr. Yu recommended that I wait, while the surgeon wanted to go in and cut right then. I decided to go home on IVs and wait, and the fact that I did made a huge difference when I ultimately went in for surgery about a month later. I didn't have to have the colostomy bag after having the colectomy (resection)! Since then I have seen Dr. Bemanian a couple of times for appointments, and he is very personable and seems to listen. I now have an endoscopy and colonoscopy scheduled with Dr. Lee, so if there is an update to this I will post later. I have every confidence with this group. Phone calls are usually returned fairly promptly, although getting scheduled for a procedure might be a bit slow, for which I took off one star. Don't think you can do too much better than this group to be honest. My original gastro never followed up on my 2 stays in the hospital within 3+ months, but his office called me a year later to schedule a colonoscopy. When I told them I was with another group because of his non follow-up, he never called to discuss it with me. Guess he didn't need my business!

  I don't know which doctor the previous reviewer saw, but I saw Dr. Bemanian and he is fantastic. His bedside manner is so warm and kind. He put me at ease immediately, he was funny and engaging. He took all the time I needed to answer all my questions. The front office staff and procedure scheduler were all very polite and professional.

  I felt so uncomfortable with my physician. His lack of empathy and robotic demeanor was just unsettling and uncomfortable and I wouldn't go back there. There are plenty of places that have much kinder doctors, this just wasn't the right place for me but YMMV.
